Lioresal/Baclofen IS USED FOR:

• Lioresal/Baclofen is a muscle relaxant. It reduces the frequency and severity of muscle spasms that occur as a result of neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis.
• Treating muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis or other diseases. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

DO NOT USE Lioresal/Baclofen IF:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Lioresal/Baclofen
• Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF Lioresal/Baclofen:

• All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
  • drowsiness;
  • dizziness;
  • headache;
  • Constipation;
  • nausea;
  • fatigue;
  • sleeplessness.
• Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
  • vomiting.
  • confusion;
  • sore throat;
  • increased weakness of arms or legs;
  • blurred vision;
  • seizures;
  • Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue);
  • slurred speech;
  • frequent urination;

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION:

• If you suddenly stop taking Lioresal/Baclofen, you may experience WITHDRAWAL symptoms, including hallucinations and seizures. Therefore, except for serious adverse reactions, the dose should be reduced slowly when the drug is discontinued.
• • Lioresal/Baclofen is not recommended for use in CHILDREN younger than 12 years of age; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
  • PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor . You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Lioresal/Baclofen during while you are pregnant. It is not known if Lioresal/Baclofen is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Lioresal/Baclofen.
  • Lioresal/Baclofen may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Lioresal/Baclofen with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
  • Do not drink alcohol or use medicines that may cause drowsiness (eg, sleep aids, muscle relaxers) while you are using Lioresal/Baclofen; it may add to their effects. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines may cause drowsiness.

BEFORE USING Lioresal/Baclofen:

• Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Lioresal/Baclofen. However, no specific interactions with Lioresal/Baclofen are known at this time.
• Ask your health care provider if Lioresal/Baclofen may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.
• Some medical conditions may interact with Lioresal/Baclofen. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you: shift
  • if you have epilepsy or seizures, or have had a stroke
  • if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
  • if you have kidney problems or kidney failure

HOW TO USE Lioresal/Baclofen:

• Use Lioresal/Baclofen as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions. shift
  • If you miss a dose of Lioresal/Baclofen, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
  • take Lioresal/Baclofen by mouth with or without food.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
